The positions are funded by Personal Health Budgets which are managed directly by the families or by the education provider.

Carer needed for 3 year old girl

We are seeking a carer for a delightful, very happy and friendly 3 year old girl who lives at home with her long term Foster Carers.

She is incredibly sociable and loves people be it children or adults.  She enjoys books, playing with her dolls and teddies and likes to go to the park.

She has complex health needs and requires trained, caring and confident support for both her personal and social needs. She has a tracheostomy and requires the support of a ventilator when she is asleep or unwell.   Full training around all clinical needs will be given, it is expected the post holder will have updates annually.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to support the needs of the family and the work pattern will be predominantly night shifts; however, there may be some requirement to work during the day and there will be some weekend work.  Hours of work will be 24.75 per week but these will be worked flexibly over a 4 week period.

Care will include clinical support, personal care and making opportunities for fun and relaxation where appropriate.

Whilst the main care will be in the family home; there may be occasions when it is necessary to support the family on trips outside the home.

The post holder will need to be flexible, reliable and able to work as part of a team.

An extended DBS will be required.

Carer needed for 16 year old

We are seeking a Carer for a delightful 16 year old young lady who lives at home with her Mum, younger brother, pet dog and cats.

She enjoys listening to music and watching anything musical on the television. She likes having her hands massaged and finger nails painted and loves social interaction and having a laugh.  She also enjoys going to school.

She was born with significant complex health needs and requires trained, caring and confident support for all her personal and social needs. She is fed by a gastrostomy tube and experiences seizures. Full training around all clinical needs will be given, it is expected the post holder will have updates annually.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to support the needs of the family and the work pattern will be predominantly early mornings Monday to Friday to help get her ready for school, however, there may be some requirement to work during the day and at weekends.

Care will include clinical support, personal care and making opportunities for fun and relaxation; this will also include moving and handling and using the equipment provided.

Whilst the main care will be in the family home; there will be occasions when it is necessary to support the family on trips outside the home.

The post holder will need to be flexible, reliable and able to work as part of a team.

An extended DBS will be required.

Two carers needed for 5 year old boy

We are seeking two carers for a delightful 5 year old boy who lives at home with his parents, his twin brother, elder sister and two boisterous dogs.

He loves to watch videos but also enjoys playing with toys he can use a switch on, being read to and being part of the bustle of the family. He loves going to school

He was born with significant complex health needs and requires trained, caring and confident support for all his personal and social needs. He is fed by a gastrostomy tube and breathes supported by a ventilator and tracheostomy.

Full training around all clinical needs will be given, it is expected the post holders will have updates annually.

The post holders will be expected to work flexibly to support the needs of the family.

Post one:

35 hrs a week: this post is jointly funded through children’s continuing health care  and Humberston Park Academy.  20hrs will be predominantly two night shifts per week within the family home, although there may be some requirement to work during the day, and this will include some weekend work.  15hrs per week will be day shifts to support his health needs whilst accessing education either in the family home or educational setting.

Post two:

15 hrs a week: This post will be predominantly night shifts within the family home although there may be some requirement to work during the day and there will be some weekend work. Hours will be worked flexibly over a four week period.

Care will include clinical support, personal care and making opportunities for fun and relaxation; this will also include moving and handling and using the equipment provided.

Whilst the main care will be in the family home; there will be occasions when it is necessary to support the family on trips outside the home.

The post holders will need to be flexible, reliable and able to work as part of a team.

An extended DBS will be required.
