What opportunities are available?

Would you like to be part of something new and help save lives at sea?

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our brand-new team to help set up and support exciting events in the Cleethorpes and Grimsby area.

If you are a team player who is willing to support a variety of events and activities and wouldn’t mind travelling a short distance to get to some of them, we would love to hear from you! The amount of time that you volunteer is up to you. We would just like to have you on board.

We are keen to build a team of helpers who would be willing, able and enthusiastic about helping fundraising teams and independent event organisers with practical tasks at events which could include helping to put up a gazebo, selling raffle tickets, serving refreshments, holding collection buckets and much more.

The type, range and frequency of the events are determined by the volunteers themselves.

We will provide you with lots of support, fundraising materials and regular contact to help you raise funds. By getting involved you will be making a huge difference and helping to save lives on the North East Lincolnshire coast.

Email us at if you are interested in becoming an RLNI Fundraising Events Volunteers

Are you outgoing? Do you like helping others?  Are you IT competent and confident?

North East Lincolnshire Council (NELC) have 2 CAPS where a variety of enquiries are dealt with every day.

To support our customers we have ‘self-serve’ IT pods , customers can use these to solve their enquiries,  for example, this maybe an application for a blue badge. For some this is easy, for others they may need support to navigate around the application, we call this assisted self-serve and this is where you can help !

Your role within CAPS would be to greet customers and offer support to them in the self-serve pods, very often once they have ‘done it themselves’ they are able to do it again without having to visit the council offices. We don’t expect you to solve the enquiries but to support customers to use the IT for themselves.

CAPS are located in Grimsby Town Centre at  the Municipal Offices, this office is open  Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pmn and we have a part-time Immingham Office, based in the Civic Community Hub open Monday and Fridays only .

We offer flexible working arrangements, a supportive working environment and an opportunity to work in a face paced customer focussed environment therefore improving your customer service skills.

If you feel you are up for this challenge in the first instance please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

We have a great opportunity within our Tourist Information Centre based in Cleethorpes.  Within the TIC we advise visitors about the resort and the area that ensures that they get the very best out of their stay whether that be a day or a holiday.  Two days are never the same as we try to help every possible enquiry from ‘where the loos’ to  ‘where can I land my plane and get an ice cream’ ?!!!

We are not always based in the office we aim to meet our visitors whilst out and about and using mobile technology engage over the social media platforms.

We are open 7 days a week  and can offer flexible working arrangements, a supportive environment  and an opportunity to understand the visitor economy here in North East Lincolnshire.

Green Futures is a social enterprise scheme based on a 3.5-acre site on Bradley Road in Grimsby. They maintain a growing space that includes four poly tunnels; and also have a workshop, a wetland, woodland and orchard. They rely on volunteers to help us grow produce and maintain the site all year round, and in turn our volunteers benefit from open spaces, a nurturing growing environment, and companionship in a safe environment.

There are a number of opportunities available for volunteers on site, including general gardening, pruning, woodworking, working on our veg-box scheme, preparing lunches, site maintenance and looking after our woodland.

Volunteers benefit from a friendly, welcoming environment and companionship in a sanctuary in the heart of Grimsby.

Green Futures are looking for green-fingered volunteers, who are looking for great friends and want to enjoy growing and eating good food with roles including: lunchtime cook, team leader, woodland management, gardener, workshop supervisor and general handy person.
