What opportunities are available?
Food Bank
Rock Foundation is seeking reliable volunteers who want to help vulnerable people in their community, alongside our dedicated and dynamic foodbank team.
Applicants must be able to work with people across the whole social spectrum with respect and compassion, and be able to deal with difficult situations in a non-confrontational manner.
Tasks will include interacting with clients, handling food and assembling food packages, and keeping the foodbank organised and presentable. There are two main food banks looking for support:
- Holme Hill School, Heneage Road/Wellington Street Junction, Grimsby – Opens Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1pm to 3:30pm
- Willows Community Church, Wingate Road, The Willows, Grimsby – Opens Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm to 3:30pm
Charity Shop
Rock Foundation is seeking reliable volunteers who want to help vulnerable people in their community, alongside our dedicated and dynamic Second hand shop team.
Applicants must be able to work with people across the whole social spectrum with respect and compassion, and be able to deal with difficult situations in a non-confrontational manner.
Tasks will include interacting with customers, sorting donations, pricing up items under the managers instruction and serving customers when necessary. We are looking for an organised and presentable person.
The Shop is based on Freeman Street and open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.
North East Lincolnshire CCG is looking to recruit community representatives to be part of our Accord Steering Group.
This small group of Accord members meets monthly, ensuring that our members have great opportunities to shape local health and care services. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in the planning of our twice yearly public events – Way Forward, and Getting Better Together. Being a member of this Group is a great way to find out more about how the NHS in this area works, as well as giving you the opportunity to help further develop the Accord scheme and the opportunities that members receive to have their say on matters affecting North East Lincolnshire. In recent years, our Accord Steering Group members have helped to plan numerous events, represented Accord on the Citizens Panel for the Humber Acute Services Review, and have helped to shape the new engagement strategy for North East Lincolnshire.

We have got an exciting opportunity coming up at the CCG and we want you to get involved!
We know that hearing the views of the people in our community helps us to plan and buy services that meet the needs of local people. One way that we do this is through our Equality Impact Assessment panel. Our panel, made up of community members, meet regularly to help the CCG ensure that their plans and policies do not have a negative impact on local people, particularly those with protected characteristics ( eg gender, disability, sexual orientation etc).
We are currently recruiting community members to our panel and would love it if you could join us. We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about equality and the services that are delivered in North East Lincolnshire.

Green Futures is a social enterprise scheme based on a 3.5-acre site on Bradley Road in Grimsby. They maintain a growing space that includes four poly tunnels; and also have a workshop, a wetland, woodland and orchard. They rely on volunteers to help us grow produce and maintain the site all year round, and in turn our volunteers benefit from open spaces, a nurturing growing environment, and companionship in a safe environment.
There are a number of opportunities available for volunteers on site, including general gardening, pruning, woodworking, working on our veg-box scheme, preparing lunches, site maintenance and looking after our woodland.
Volunteers benefit from a friendly, welcoming environment and companionship in a sanctuary in the heart of Grimsby.
Green Futures are looking for green-fingered volunteers, who are looking for great friends and want to enjoy growing and eating good food with roles including: lunchtime cook, team leader, woodland management, gardener, workshop supervisor and general handy person.
