New speed limit introduced on Littlefield Lane, Grimsby
North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, will be introducing a new 20mph speed limit on Littlefield Lane between the mini roundabout at Cross Coates Road to the junction with Cromwell Road.
The new 20mph speed limit will also be extended to a number of side streets and cul-de-sacs leading off Littlefield Lane.
Works will start on Monday 17 February to remove the existing 30mph and 20mph signage that is no longer required in the area and refresh those remaining.
The works will take one day to complete and can be completed without the need for temporary traffic signals or a road closure.
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for highways, said: “The introduction of the 20mph zone follows on from road safety measures installed in 2019 with the aim to reduce vehicle speeds and tackle the increase in the number of road traffic collisions.
“On completion of the signing works, the 20mph speed limit will come into force.”
Once the weather improves additional 20mph road markings will also be installed.
North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, would like to thank road users, residents and businesses for their co-operation while works take place.
