Phone ‘n’ Ride Service to resume

The Phone ‘n’ Ride service is set to be back up and running from Monday 1 June following dicussions between North East Lincolnshire Council, its regeneration partner, ENGIE, and delivery partner, Stagecoach East Midlands.

The service is restarting to support local residents with essential journeys such as travelling to and from work, attending medical appointments and essential shopping. Temporarily, the service is unable to accept leisure trips, in line with Government guidelines.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “The safety of all passengers and the drivers is our key priority. Passengers will see a range of new safety measures for passengers and drivers, including enhanced cleaning routines and social distancing measures, all in line with Government guidelines.

“The service will continue to accept new passengers to ensure that residents are able to get to and from work, attend medical appointments and shop for essentials.”

The Phone ‘n’ Ride Team have written to all passengers of the service advising of the additional safety measures in place and announcing the return of the service.

What is Phone ‘n’ Ride?

Phone ‘n’ Ride is North East Lincolnshire’s on-demand bus service with no fixed route or timetable – users simply book where they want to go.

The service was established in 2005 to make sure residents could continue to get around the borough and access key services. The service will continue to do that and assist people to travel to and from work, education, health appointments and essential shopping trips.

Phone ‘n’ Ride is managed by the council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, working alongside delivery partner, Stagecoach East Midlands.
