Traffic counts to take place on A18 as part of detailed design for safety improvement works
In 2018 the council was successful in securing £2.8m of funding from the Department of Transport’s Safer Roads Fund to make a number of safety improvements on the A18 Barton Street between Laceby roundabout and Ludborough.
A joint bid was submitted with Lincolnshire County Council, and the Council and ENGIE are leading on the delivery of this.
As part of the detailed design of the scheme, traffic count loops will be installed to measure traffic at the junction of the A18 and Waltham Road. This data will aid the design of the junction.
The traffic count loops will be in position for seven days from Thursday 13 to Wednesday 19 June.
Temporary traffic signals will be required while the contractors install and remove the loops, however once these are in place there will be no restrictions to traffic.
Work on the scheme is currently due to start in early 2020.
