Winning winter window displays sought from Grimsby town centre businesses
Grimsby Town Centre businesses are invited to enter the best dressed window display competition and get into the spirit of a magical and enchanted Christmas.
The competition, organised by VESR, the local business-led Visitor Economy, Services & Retail group that help promote Grimsby and the rest of North East Lincolnshire, aims to raise the profile of local businesses and encourage shopping locally.
In the busy Christmas period, the shop window is a great way to attract shoppers through the door.
If your business is in the centre of Grimsby (including Wellowgate), then why not get into the Christmas spirit and see how creative you can be?
VESR invites all businesses located in the Grimsby town centre with a shop window frontage to decorate their window and take part in the competition.
Liz Parry, chair of VESR, said: “We are delighted that our shop window display competition is back for the second year. Sponsored by Freshney Place Shopping Centre, we’re looking for town centre businesses to decorate their windows in a ‘magical, enchanted Christmas theme.”
Councillor Callum Procter, portfolio holder for tourism, heritage and leisure at North East Lincolnshire Council, added: “We’re calling on Grimsby town centre businesses to get into the festive spirit this Christmas and make their shop window as magical and enchanting as possible. It’s a great way to draw shoppers in to take a look inside.”
There are two categories depending on the size of your business (national or local independent), and all windows will be submitted for a popular vote on DiscoverNEL’s Facebook page.
To enter, take a photograph of your window and submit it via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Thursday 14 November.
Judging will take place between 18 and 19 November.
The popular Facebook vote will be closed on Monday 18 November at 11.59pm.
Winners will be announced at the Christmas lights switch on event on 21 November. The lights will be switched on at 7pm.
