North East Lincolnshire Council has 42 Councillors representing 15 Wards. 12 Wards are represented by 3 councillors and 3 Wards are represented by 2 Councillors. Councillors are elected for a four-year term of office.
Current electoral cycle – election ‘by thirds’
Currently, the council holds ‘elections by thirds’, meaning that in 3 years out of every 4 years, one third of Councillor seats are up for election.
Consultation outcome
Following the consultation a report detailing the responses was considered by Council on Thursday 7th September where it was agreed to remain with elections by thirds.
