B1444 Little Coates / Cambridge Road junction improvement – resurfacing

12:00 pm, Friday, 11th December 2020 - 3 years ago

General

The improvement scheme on the B1444 Little Coates/Cambridge Road junction is nearing completion. In order to move traffic from the old road layout onto the new carriageway and roundabout and carry out resurfacing works, two overnight road closures will be required.

These closures will take place between the hours of 7.30pm – 6am on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 December.

Access will be maintained for businesses and residents but there will be no direct access through Little Coates Road between the A46 and the A1136 Great Coates Road/Yarbrough Road.

Vehicles travelling south from Yarbrough Road to Cambridge Road will not be allowed to travel beyond Fairways Care Home, car park entrance.

Vehicles travelling north from the A46 Laceby road will not be allowed to travel past the Junction of Broadway.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the closures and safety measures put in place, but please be mindful that there will be heavy machinery working and at times you may need to be escorted through by the contractors to ensure your safety.

Bus services will continue to run as normal but there may be some slight delays as a traffic marshal will manage the buses through the closed area.

The road is expected to reopen fully to traffic from the Thursday 17 December when traffic will be diverted onto the newly constructed roundabout.

There will be some additional elements to the scheme which will be completed in the new year. This includes landscaping, some final resurfacing, installation of a new bus layby and a new pedestrian crossing. This will require some minor traffic management and we will release further details of this in the new year.
