The Families First Information Service is a free, impartial information service for families with children aged 0-19 years. We work really hard to provide you with up to date, accurate information about services and activities for children and families. You can search our directory for information about activities that are taking place in your area. We also work with services in and around the surrounding areas to ensure that you can find a service that you may need at any given time.

We constantly work on the information provided, the way in which you can search for information and we welcome all feedback about the directory from you! Term time only: 8.30-11.45am, 11.45-12.45am (lunch session) and 12.45-3.45pm.

Admissions
Signhills Pre-school are registered for 36 children each morning and afternoon session.
Children are welcome to attend from the age of 2.5 years until they transfer to school. From time to time, where space is available, additional hours may be offered to the oldest children already attending pre-school on a first-come-first-served basis.

We operate a waiting list system – please contact us to add your child to our waiting list.

Consideration is also given to siblings who already attend Signhills Pre-school.

Due to high demand for places, Signhills Pre-school operates a strict catchment area. Where admissions allow, we extend this catchment area in line with our admissions policy.

Good Ofsted Report (Dec 2021), excellent community placement, accessible for all families, 2, 3 & 4 year funding accepted, Childcare vouchers and Child Tax Credit payments accepted

Currently every child aged 3 and 4 is entitled to 15 hours a week of childcare that is paid for by the government and become eligible for the funding from the term after they turn 3 years old. Extended hours childcare (30 hours) is also available where places allow. Additional paid for hours beyond the entitlement may be available upon request, please contact us or speak to the setting manager for more information.

Additional sessions and children not yet in receipt of funding will be charged at £23 for 3 and 4 year-olds and £25 for 2-year-olds. (For a 3 hour session)

£35 per day for over 3's

Some 2-year-olds are also eligible for early years education funding, but we are only able to admit children after they turn 2-and-a-half years old.

• We are very proud of our reputation as a small setting which offers a high standard of care and education. Our friendly, fully qualified, and experienced staff know that their role is to ensure that all children feel at home in our setting so that they can confidently take their first steps in their journey of education. We believe that it is our role to ensure that all children build firm foundations for future learning during their time with us so that they can thrive, grow and fulfil their individual potential.
• Each child has a Key Worker who closely monitors their progress with regular meetings and updates with parent/carer’s.
• Ofsted report is consistently “Good”.
• Established in 1975 with many years of experience in childcare. We provide a stimulating, caring, safe, fun, and structured environment for all children in our setting. We are situated in a lovely location housed within the Methodist Church, Station Road, Healing which is a picturesque village with plenty of lovely local walks, train station nearby and a regular bus service. We have a large spacious indoor area together with 3 outdoor areas.

We provide snacks and drinks throughout the day and cook teas for those who book them for an additional £2.50 , we also provide breakfast every morning .
Throughout the holidays we plan activities to suit the children’s needs and age range . We also go out in the village for walks and trips to the parks. We plan trips out and invite companies into the setting to do activities with the children , such as football , tennis and learning new skills like crochet and learning to play musical instruments . There is additional cost to these activities which we and try to keep to the minimum

Availability

We do have some spaces in oosc on Monday , Tuesdays, and Friday’s term time .
We are full in our 3-year room on a Tuesday and have limited spaces the rest of the week .
After Easter we do have some spaces in our 2-year room . Monday , Wednesday, and Friday all day
