Get your child immunised at new drive-through venues

4:03 pm, Tuesday, 16th June 2020 - 4 years ago

Children and families

Thousands of children across the country have missed out on receiving their in-school vaccinations because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, the Council’s School Nursing service are to set up drive-through vaccine centres across the borough to vaccinate those Year 8 students who have missed their jabs.

The vaccine is free to all children and offers protection against human papillomavirus (HPV).

It helps protect against cancers caused by HPV, including cervical cancer, some mouth and throat (head and neck) cancers, and some cancers of the anal and genital areas.

How to book an appointment

The sessions are by appointment only, so you will need to book a slot before going for your child’s jab.

The vaccines are only available to students in Year 8 at school.

To book an appointment, email [email protected] or call 01472 323660.

Once you’ve arranged your appointment, simply turn up, park up and receive your jab.
