Big Community Switch

Sign up to the Big Community Switch

Big Community Switch is a free scheme that could help you save money on your energy bills.

It’s easy and there is no obligation to accept the offer. All you need to provide are your contact details, the name of your energy supplier and details of your current energy usage and tariff. All you need to do to be involved is Sign up to the Big Community Switch .

How it works

The council, working in partnership with EQUANS, encourage as many people as possible to sign up and use their joint buying power to lower home energy costs. People have saved between £60 and £200 a year across the country on their energy bills and the more people that sign up, the bigger the potential savings.

We have teamed up with other councils across the country to make it easier for people to switch energy providers. All you need to do is visit the Big Community Switch .

Getting a better deal

We are working with a specialist company iChoosr who negotiate with the energy companies on behalf of everyone signed up to the scheme to get the best tariff possible. Over 420,000 participants have already switched suppliers thanks to iChoosr’s collective switching schemes in three different countries.

Help signing up

If you do not have access to the internet, staff at your local library can help if you don’t have internet access, but remember to bring a copy of a recent gas and electricity bill with you. Friends and family might also be able to assist as up to five separate addresses can be registered with the same email.

Alternatively you can contact the Home Energy Team at North East Lincolnshire Council on 01472 324703 with your latest fuel bill and they will be able to register for you.
