Children and families

Our Autism in Schools and PINS (Partnerships for the Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools) projects have been delivered over the past few years through fantastic collaboration with the Humber & North Yorkshire ICB, NEL Local Authority, SENDIASS, NELPCF, Compass Go, NAViGO Neurodevelopmental Service, the Educational Psychology Service, and many more partners across health and education.

As part of their legacy, both projects have donated a brilliant range of neurodiversity‑themed books for all ages to our local libraries in Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Immingham and Waltham.
NELPCF also have a copy of the full set of 12 books, supporting families to access these helpful resources directly through the Parent Carer Forum.

The latest donations include books recommended by guest speaker Dean Beadle, who visited in January 2025 to share his lived experience and insight with stakeholders across NEL.

Pop into your local library and look out for the special poster highlighting the Wellbeing and Special Educational Needs and Disability collection or pop along to see ‘NELPCF on Tour’ to find these fantastic new reads!

Let’s continue building understanding, inclusion, and celebration of neurodiversity across our community.
