Council Cabinet and other positions confirmed at the AGM

The Cabinet for North East Lincolnshire Council has been re-confirmed at the Council’s Annual General Meeting this week (Thursday 22 May).

The Cabinet responsibilities for the following year remain as follows:

  • Cllr P Jackson – Leader and Portfolio Holder for Economy, Regeneration, Devolution and Skills
  • Cllr S Shreeve – Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care
  • Cllr M Cracknell – Portfolio Holder for Children and Education
  • Cllr S Harness – Portfolio Holder for Finance, Resources and Assets
  • Cllr H Hudson – Portfolio Holder for Environment and Net Zero
  • Cllr S Swinburn – Portfolio Holder for Housing, Infrastructure and Transport
  • Cllr R Shepherd – Portfolio Holder for Safer and Stronger Communities
  • Cllr H Dawkins – Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and the Visitor Economy

Other committee and Scrutiny Panel chairs were also agreed as follows:

Scrutiny Panels:

  • Communities Chair: Councillor Aisthorpe
  • Children and Education Chair: Councillor Silvester
  • Economy, Culture and Tourism: Chair: Councillor Holland
  • Health and Adult Social Care: Chair: Councillor Lindley
  • Transport, Infrastructure and Strategic Housing Chair: Councillor Mill

Regulatory Committees:

  • Planning Committee Chair: Councillor Hasthorpe
  • Standards and Adjudication Committee Chair: Councillor K Swinburn
  • Appointments Committee Chair: Councillor Jackson
  • Audit and Governance Committee (Independent Chair, Tim Render (up to and including 17 July 2025. A report on a future Chair is to be brought to a future meeting of the Council)
  • Licensing and Community Protection Committee Chair: Councillor Augusta

Cllr Philip Jackson, leader of the Council, said: “We will continue to press on with our priorities this year, delivering on our promises to help create a stronger local economy and safer, and stronger, communities for all.”

These appointments have been made at the Annual General Meeting of the Council, along with other committee chairs and placings.
