Kicking off the weekend in style, this time next week!

From Humberside Police to St. Andrew’s Hospice, more than 100 floats will take part in this year’s Cleethorpes carnival as part of Armed Forces Weekend.

A key element of the event, the carnival will take place on Friday, 27 June, setting off from the Sea Road and Alexandra Road roundabout at 6pm.

The floats will travel along Alexandra Road, High Cliff Road and end at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre with plenty for spectators to see. Some of the wonderful groups include local charities, businesses and organisations.

Make sure to keep an eye out for our Fostering and Family Hubs float who will be part of the carnival too. If you see them give them a cheer and a wave!

As part of the carnival, there will be a chance for floats to win one of three trophies. Donated by the team at Gradley Sports Awards, participants will be competing for Best Dressed, Best Design and Best Entertainment. Last year, the winners were:

  • Best Design – Fierce Elite Cheer
  • Best Entertainment – Fusion Nightclub
  • Best Dressed – Coates Couture
