The 2026 NELC Annual Business Survey has gone live! The purpose of the survey is to help North East Lincolnshire Council gain an improved and up-to-date understanding of the current economic landscape and the future needs of businesses within the region.
Feedback provided by the local business community contributes towards helping us in making informed data-led decisions in the future. The survey is open to all businesses of all sizes and all industries operating in North East Lincolnshire, and will run for a 10-week period until Tuesday 31 March 2026.
North East Lincolnshire Council is encouraging business owners and Managers within local businesses to have their say and complete the survey. The greater the number of responses received, the more detailed and accurate picture NELC can begin to assemble of the local economic climate in NEL.
The survey is made-up of several sections relating to different areas of business and economy and should take around 15-minutes to complete. All responses can remain anonymous, however at the end of the survey there is an opportunity to be entered into a prize draw for a £100 contribution towards a team meal for you and your colleagues, with an email address required to enter.
In 2025, NELC conducted the inaugural Annual Business Survey. Upon its completion, several key challenges facing local businesses were revealed, including:
- Advanced Digital Skills
- Management & Leadership
- Recruitment
- Access to Public Sector Tendering
- Energy Prices
Since then, the Economy & Funding team have collaborated with partners to tackle these issues in promoting and delivering support options for local businesses.
