The much-loved local business, Hot Bun on the Run has pleased local shoppers this week with news that it has renewed its lease at Freshney Place for a further two years.

A long-standing presence in Grimsby, Hot Bun on the Run, which was situated at the entrance of Grimsby Top Town Market for more than two decades, has built a strong following in Grimsby for its delicious hot meat sandwiches.

The news reflects the business’s ongoing success, as well as the important role independent businesses play in supporting the local economy – whilst providing choice for the community.

Steven Singleton, owner of Hot Bun on the Run said: “We’re delighted to be staying in Freshney Place, our customers know where we – and where our hot sandwiches are! We’re also really looking forward to the new development and hoping it will introduce new customers to Hot Bun on the Run.”

Elliott Andrews, Freshney Place Centre Manager, said: “We’re so pleased that Hot Bun on the Run has chosen to renew its lease and commit to its future at Freshney Place. It’s such a popular local business with an incredibly loyal customer base.

‘Freshney Place has always been a community destination, with the aim of supporting independents alongside the bigger national chains. It’s this mixed offering that is increasingly important for sustaining local shopping centres, and something we will build on with our redevelopment plans – the variety of tenants is a significant draw for today’s customer.”

Hot Bun on the Run has been part of the Grimsby retail landscape for many years, and its continued presence highlights the strength of its connection with local customers.

Jason Sargent, Senior Asset Manager at Queensberry Real Estate, added: “The decision by Hot Bun on the Run to recommit to Freshney Place is a positive reflection of both its performance and the centre’s ongoing appeal. Independent businesses like this are an important part of the tenant mix, helping to create a diverse and engaging environment for visitors.”

Freshney Place continues to play a key role in the town’s regeneration, as it undergoes a £50 million investment that will see it evolve into a leading leisure and retail destination for the region.
