Summer workshops for children at Grimsby’s Fishing Heritage Centre each Wednesday in August

Children can enjoy lots of activities at Grimsby’s award-winning Fishing Heritage Centre this summer with the launch of “Workshop Wednesdays”.

Each Wednesday in August, from 10am to noon or 1pm to 3pm, there’s a series of exciting children’s art and craft workshops led by some of region’s most talented creative individuals.

August 5th – Seaside Crafts

Sew a seagull, decorate a fish, make a beach bracelet and much more. £2 per child, ages 5+ (no need to book).

August 12th – New ways to create using LEGO® with Unseen Arts:

10am – noon – LEGO® Creative Builds

Design, build and explore big ideas through LEGO® in this imaginative workshop inspired by local heritage, nature and the future of North East Lincolnshire. £3 per child, ages 6+ (no need to book)

1pm to 3pm – LEGO® Stop Motion Animation

Create your own LEGO® stop-motion film as you learn animation, storytelling and filmmaking skills in this fun, hands-on workshop. £3 per child, ages 6+, please note: numbers for this session are limited so places must be reserved in advance: visit https://unseenarts.as.me/schedule/b6610b90.

August 19th – Spark your imagination with STEMPunx

Packed sessions of creating a colourful stained glass sea creature tile to be part of our summer wall, then designing a shadow puppet and bringing it to life on a shadow theatre screen. £3 per child, ages 5+ (no need to book).

August 26th – LEGO® heaven for families with BrickBox

Back by popular demand after sell-out sessions earlier in the year, join LEGO® experts BrickBox to create your perfect summer build. Add to our play park or beach bases with your own creations and show us what your ideal summer would include. £3 per child, ages 4+ (no need to book).

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and there’s a 10% discount in the Galley Café on site for all those who take part.
