Working with local businesses where we can is a priority for North East Lincolnshire Council: the benefits are obvious – keep the money in the local area, help keep jobs in the local area, and reducing our environmental impact and carbon emissions.
A new framework for facilities management services will be advertised for tender in September 2026, offering suppliers the opportunity to join the framework and bid for future work.
Cllr Simon Taylor, Cabinet member for Finance, Resource and Assets, said: “Along with specialist companies, who deal with things like asbestos related work, we are also looking for local businesses who can provide things like building work, electrical and mechanical work and joinery.
“The first step is for those companies to get themselves registered on the tendering portal, and then when this framework opportunity comes up, they can apply directly.”
The framework will create a list of pre-approved suppliers for a range of facilities management services, enabling the Council to procure future works and services efficiently from suppliers that have already been assessed for their legal and financial capacity and technical ability.
The Council regularly publishes its Procurement Pipeline, but suppliers must be appointed to the framework to bid for future tenders advertised through it.
The framework due to be released in September is likely to be divided into the following lots (subject to change):
- Lot 1a – Asbestos Surveying and Analytical Work
- Lot 1b – Asbestos Emergency Reactive Work
- Lot 1c – Asbestos Removal Work
- Lot 1d – Asbestos Laboratory Services
- Lot 2a – Electrical Planned and Reactive
- Lot 2b – Electrical Statutory Planned Preventative Maintenance
- Lot 3 – General Building Works
- Lot 4 – Joinery and Carpentry
- Lot 5a – Mechanical Planned and Reactive
- Lot 5b – Mechanical Statutory Planned Preventative Maintenance
Suppliers are encouraged to ensure they are registered on both YORtender and the (Find a Tender) Central Digital Platform in preparation for the publication of the Framework opportunity.
