Individuals, businesses and partners from across North East Lincolnshire have come to help make Grimsby a safer place to be in the evening.
Held at Blundell Park, the event highlighted the importance of partnership working in creating safer communities while supporting a thriving and responsible town centre nightlife. Attendees heard from a range of speakers who shared insights, experiences and ideas aimed at reducing harm, preventing crime and improving safety across the area.
The event was opened by Leo Hammond, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside, before Chief Inspector Simon Duffield of Humberside Police provided an overview of current policing priorities and challenges, outlining the role that businesses and partners can play in helping to keep communities safe.
One of the most powerful presentations of the day came from Paul Spence, founder of PAUL Brain Recovery, who shared his personal story and the devastating impact that can result from a single act of violence. His account provided a poignant reminder of the real-life consequences of violence and the importance of making a difference.
Those in attendance were also treated to a range of talks about schemes and groups that can help pull together the town’s businesses to make a better place for everyone.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for sharing and strengthening relationships between organisations committed to improving community safety.
