The work to the A180 bridges is nearing completion, with some final lining works due overnight next week on Alexandra Dock bridge and Westgate roundabout.
As a reminder, these vital structural repairs are being undertaken to ensure the main road into Grimsby and Cleethorpes can safely carry traffic in the decades ahead.
At the same time as the lining works, a new safety barrier on the central reservation over the bridge section will be installed on Alexandra Dock bridge, and CCTV drain inspection work will be carried out on Gilbey Bridge.
The current schedule is as follows:
Monday 19 October and Tuesday 20 October, both Alexandra Dock bridge and Gilbey Bridge will be closed from 8pm to approximately 5am the following morning. Diversions will be around Grimsby town centre for the Alexandra Dock section, and via Moody Lane for the Gilbey bridge section.
Overnight closures will continue just on Alexandra Dock bridge for the remainder of the week until overnight on Friday 23 October to Saturday morning.
From Monday 19 October, there will also be closures of Lane 2 both ways (the lane next to the central reservation) on Alexandra Dock bridge for the barrier to be replaced.
The final set of overnight closures on Alexandra Dock bridge will be on the nights of Monday 26, Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October, again, from 8pm to 5am.
