One of the area’s most loved parks has been given a facelift with revamped pavements.

Cleethorpes Country Park is used by thousands every year – from people going fishing to those taking their dog to jump in the water. Now, it’s been made even more appealing with improved footpaths all the way round.

Over the past few weeks, teams have been working hard to repave numerous cracks and fix other issues that have been reported.

Work is continuing to finish the improvements, but there are noticeable results already. Have a look for yourself with these before and after pictures:

The area has been tarmacked and rolled to provide an accessible and safe path around the entire park, allowing visitors to take time feeding the birds and seeing some of the wonderful wildlife on display.

Additionally, those partaking in the park run will have an even better surface to help them get their new personal best.

The continued improvements are part of ongoing work across the park to improve the experience for all visitors. Earlier this year, teams also removed numerous reeds to improve the waterways in the park to help the wildlife who call it their home.

North East Lincolnshire’s parks and open spaces are a hugely important part of the borough’s identity and making them an enjoyable place to be plays into the Council’s Play Together campaign.

The whole idea is to encourage families and residents to get moving, try new activities, and explore local green spaces and events. By creating spaces that are more appealing and usable, it’s a great way to encourage residents to come and use the areas themselves.

Whilst work is ongoing, residents are reminded that some pathways are out of bounds. Visitors are still welcome to access all parts of the park by walking on the grass in areas where work is being carried out.
