North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, are planning to remove the existing gateway chicanes on Waltham Road between the A18 and Bradley Road in Barnoldby le Beck.

The council is removing the gates following a review by officers at ENGIE which highlighted potential road safety concerns over the visibility of the current gateway features at night. The replacement feature is also expected to reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

The chicanes will be replaced with an alternative gateway arrangement, consisting of verge marker posts, high-friction red surfacing, new traffic signs and associated road markings.

Works will start on Monday 12 October and are planned to take one week to complete. To allow the works to be carried out safely, temporary traffic signals will be in place between 7:30am and 6pm each day.

The works will be managed and overseen by the council’s partner, ENGIE, with contractor, Southam Services (Lincs) Ltd, carrying out the works.

The council, ENGIE and Southam Services would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.
