North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, will be starting structural repairs to a section of Deansgate Bridge from Monday 8 February.
The works are essential to ensure the bridge remains structurally safe and meets the highway standards expected by Department for Transport.
Works will take three weeks to complete. To minimise disruption and provide a safe working area for the contractor, a lane closure will be in place each night from 7:30pm until 6am between the Bargate/Dudley Street junction and Church Lane for traffic travelling into Grimsby town centre. Traffic travelling towards Bargate and Dudley Street will be able to continue throughout the works.
A signed diversion route will be in place for affected traffic and emergency access maintained at all times.
During the works, the footway will be closed for safety reasons and a signed diversion route in place.
The works will be managed and overseen by the council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, with contractor, CML Ltd, carrying out the works.
North East Lincolnshire Council, ENGIE and CML Ltd would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the works but will be completing the works as safely and quickly as possible, to minimise disruption.
