THE third and final phase of a multi-million pound cycle superhighway is being progressed by North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE.

The remaining part of the highway is due to be installed along the A1173 from the CATCH training facility leading across Kings Road and tying into the existing cycleway at Pelham Road junction.

The project is worth a total of £2.6m, with £2.2m awarded by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLEEP) and a further £400,00 contributed by the council and private sector, and will see 3.8km of new off-road cycleway constructed to give cyclists a safe and sustainable route across the South Humber Bank to access work and training facilities.

The final phase will bring together the soon-to-be completed phase one works on the A180 and recently completed phase two works on Hobson Way to create the cycle superhighway, better connecting residents to employment opportunities on the South Humber Bank area including the Stallingborough Business Park.

The project team at ENGIE are working closely with engineers at Northern Powergrid to coordinate both sets of work in the area to minimise disruption. Full details about the programme will be released closer to the start of the works.

Prior to works starting on site residents and businesses in the area have been written to and asked to complete a short survey with any feedback or comments they have regarding delivery of the scheme.

The survey can be accessed by visiting https://immingham-stallingborough-cycle.questionpro.eu. The survey will be live from Monday 6 September until Friday 1 October if any residents or businesses have any comments they would like to submit.
