North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, EQUANS, will be starting junction improvement works at the Cambridge Road and Chelmsford Avenue junction from Monday 25 October.

The improvements will include carriageway resurfacing, the upgrade and replacement of traffic signs and illuminated bollards, drainage improvements, and additional minor infrastructure improvements.

The works will take three weeks to complete. Road closures will be in place at the junction on one arm of the roundabout at any time, with the three remaining arms open.

The traffic management arrangements for the improvements are:

Phase 1: Monday 25 October – Thursday 28 October

Cambridge Road, between Chelmsford Avenue and 6 Cambridge Road, will be closed. During the first day of this closure, Monday 25 October, temporary traffic signals will also be in place between 9:30am and 3:30pm for the remaining three arms.

Phase 2: Friday 29 October – Tuesday 2 November

Westward Ho, between Chelmsford Avenue and 166/168 Westward Ho, will be closed. The road will be open over the weekend.

Phase 3: Wednesday 3 November – Thursday 4 November

Chelmsford Avenue, between Cambridge Road and 127 Chelmsford Avenue, will be closed.

Phase 4: Friday 5 November – Wednesday 10 November

Chelmsford Avenue, between Westhill Road and Cambridge Road, will be closed. The road will be open over the weekend.

Phase 5: Thursday 11 November and Saturday 13 November

Carriageway resurfacing and road marking works carried out under a full road closure of the junction between 7pm and 6am each night.

Advanced warning signs and a signed diversion route will be in place during the closures. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.

Nearby residents have been informed about the works and provided further details regarding access.

The dates are subject to change as the works are dependent on the weather.

North East Lincolnshire Council, EQUANS and the contractor, EC Surfacing Ltd, would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the improvements.
