On 1st March 2022, parents and carers of children who are due to transfer to secondary school in September were notified which school their child has been allocated.

Those parents and carers who applied online were notified by email. Parents and carers applying via the paper form have been notified by post.

In total, 1,957 applications from North East Lincolnshire residents were received by the published closing date.

Of those, 92.9% were offered their first preference school; 4.19% were offered their 2nd preference; and 1.48% were offered their 3rd preference. 1.43% were not offered any of their preferred schools and will be allocated the next nearest school with places, in line with published arrangements.

Any late applications or changes to original preferences will be considered at a second allocation on 31st March 2022.

Councillor Ian Lindley, Portfolio holder for Children and Education at North East Lincolnshire, said:

“The allocation of school places is a complex task and it can be an emotive time for families awaiting the outcome of their application.

“I’m really pleased that the vast majority of pupils have been allocated their first preference.  However, any parent/carer who has not received their preferred school will be sent advice and information on how to appeal the decision.”

The Council’s School Admission Team is able to offer impartial advice to parents and carers and can also advise which local schools still have places available. To seek advice, call  (01472) 326291 (option 4) or email [email protected].
