Did you spot the Voice and Influence stand at the Skills Fair last week?

Your voice

The Voice and Influence department had an excellent day at the Skills Fair last Friday, at the Grimsby Auditorium. They advertised numerous youth voice groups we have going on in our area as all groups are recruiting new members – to name a few; Young Inspectors, Youth Action and Our Voice, Listen Up!.

These groups have been pivotal in our local community over the past few years in providing a voice and change to young people who are often overlooked when concerning changes and opinions within our area. To name one example, Youth Action hosted a competition during lock down of 2020 called ‘Creative Connections’ which saw hundreds of young people around North East Lincolnshire submit their creative work with the focus being on loneliness and isolation due to the pandemic, whether that be in the form of a piece of art work, a story, a poem or even a song. These wonderful displays of art work could be seen at the Voice and Influence stand at the Skills Fair last week.

Over 1,600 year 10 students from across our area attended this fantastic event and saw what we have to offer young people and their voice; if any of these groups sound like something you may be interested in, then get in touch below. As all youth voice groups are recruiting for new members, now would be the perfect time to come to a taster session to find out if it’s for you…

To enquire about any of our youth voice groups, please contact Pippa on 07584150229 or email [email protected] – we can’t wait to meet you!
