The annual Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Survey has been extended until 10 March 2023.

Over 300 people have taken the survey so far.

We are extending the opportunity to take part so that even more parents and carers of children with SEND and young people themselves can tell us what would help them best.

The impact of your answers is invaluable and helps us to shape and improve the support that we can offer everyone in the borough.

It has taken respondents only five minutes on average to complete the survey so why not visit Parents and carers- SEND Annual Survey | QuestionPro Survey.

Some of the improvements that we have made based on previous feedback includes:

  • a stronger parent carer-led approach using the insights and experiences of people like you to offer services in a way that is more suitable for your needs.
  • A better understanding of the training that parents and carers would benefit from, and would also recommend for the professionals that support your children.
  • Key issues that affect your child like SEND awareness, and inclusion.

Your answers also give us the context and person-centred insight needed to understand how this plays out in your day-to-day life.

You can answer anonymously or can leave your details at the end of the survey and someone from the Council’s SEND Team will be in touch to discuss your answers further.

Councillor Margaret Cracknell, portfolio holder for children and education at North East Lincolnshire Council, said:

“The SEND Annual Survey is crucial to informing what services area available in our patch and what those services offer.

“It’s an opportunity for us to learn from the experiences of those who have used our services.

“I would urge parents to take a look at the survey and share their experiences so we can continue to improve.”

These surveys are for families with children who have, or feel they have, special educational needs or a disability.

The surveys close on 10 March.
