The Phone ‘n’ Ride service launched a new app earlier this year which allowed people to make bookings 24/7, track vehicle routes, pre-pay journeys in advance, and provide ride notification alerts to people’s devices.
The app has recently been updated and new features are now available, including a quicker way for riders to make a booking, sharing ride information with family and friends, editing passenger numbers from the initial search screen and much more.
These new updates will further optimise the rider’s experience with easier and faster booking, and increase passengers’ confidence and safety when travelling.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “It’s great to see additional features being added to this app. These new and intuitive booking features will make it easier for people to plan their routes and book their journeys.”
Lesley Jamieson, transport officer at Equans, said: “The app has been a great success so far and I’m really looking forward to seeing the results of these new features. Being able to share ride information with people is a big step to extra safety and security when travelling, allowing you to inform important people of your whereabouts, such as carers, family, and friends.”
The Phone ‘n’ Ride service has regular availability on Saturdays, so whether you’re popping into town or visiting your friends and family, make a booking on the Phone ‘n’ Ride app and take advantage of the £2 capped fare until the end of 2024.
