North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are carrying out necessary maintenance works to the surface water drainage system that runs under Station Road, between Cooks Lane and Meadowbank.

As part of routine maintenance in September this year, a culvert under Station Road was camera surveyed and found to be damaged with a void developing under the road. Due to the risk this poses to road users, maintenance work is required to repair the defect.

To complete this work safely, a full road closure will be in place from Monday 27 November until Friday 1 December. The closure will be on Station Road, between 31A and 31B. A diversion route will be in place from Great Coates Road to Yarborough Road, Boulevard Avenue, Moody Lane and then onto Woad Lane. The diversion will be the same but in reverse for those approaching from the north.

Due to the narrow road width of Station Road, it will not be possible for the gritter vehicle to turn around during these works, therefore the whole of Station Road will not be gritted throughout this closure.
