North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are delighted to announce the new permanent bus stop at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital is now fully in operation.

The new and improved bus stop is right outside the main entrance, near the A&E department, making it easier for bus passengers to get to and from the building. The temporary bus stop outside the clocktower will no longer be in use.

Don’t forget, at the moment, it’ll only cost you £1 to use the bus to visit friends and family all weekend and from 6pm Monday to Friday.

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “Moving the bus stop closer to the main entrance of the hospital is something we have always wanted to do to help people get to and from the hospital easier and faster.”

Jonathan Ford, senior transport officer at Equans, added: “This new bus stop will make it easier for passengers travelling to their appointments, especially those holding a concessionary fare pass who are either of pensionable age or are disabled, and therefore will benefit from walking a shorter distance to the hospital.”

Matt Cranwell, managing director at Stagecoach, said: “The Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital is a key destination for people travelling on our bus network with services calling into the site every few minutes during the day. We’ve been working closely with Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust and North East Lincolnshire Council to introduce better, more convenient bus stop facilities for patients, visitors and staff. Bus services are essential in connecting our local communities with healthcare.”
