A night at the races: Mayor to host charity race night

TICKETS are now on sale for a charity race night being hosted by the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Councillor Ian Lindley.

Proceeds from the evening will go towards the Mayor’s chosen charities, Sunflowers Children’s Action Group and the Pink Rose Suite based at Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

The Charity Race Night will take place on Friday 3 November 2023 at Grimsby Town Hall, from 6:15pm onwards.

Attendees will be able to purchase a horse for £5 on the night, collecting a cash prize if they win. Attendees can also sponsor a race, with their name featuring in the evening’s programme.

Tickets are on sale now from Grimsby Town Hall reception for £7.50 per person, and include a fish & chip supper. A bar will be open on the night along with a raffle.

The Worshipful, the Mayor of the Borough of North East Lincolnshire, Councillor Ian Lindley, said:

“I’m really excited to unveil my second charitable event of my Mayoral Year – a night at the races.

“Members of the public are invited to come along and join my wife and I in raising money for Sunflowers Children’s Action Group and the Pink Rose Suite.

“It’s sure to be a fun-filled evening, and I can’t wait to welcome people along.”

The Charity Race Night will take place on Friday 3rd November, at Grimsby Town Hall, from 6.15 pm. The first race will start at 7.00 pm.
