There will be two overnight lane closures to enable contractors to cut down vegetation on Alexandra Dock Bridge and Gilbey Road Bridge. The works will start on Friday 28 November on Alexandra Dock Bridge between 7pm and 5am followed by Gilbey Road Bridge on Saturday 29 November between 7pm and 5am.
Additionally, there will be two night closures on Gilbey Bridge between Pyewipe Roundabout and Moody Lane Roundabout on 1 and 2 December.
A pothole appeared in the surface tarmac in September and a temporary patch was done at the time. These works are to provide a more permanent repair. The bridge will be closed from 8pm on both evenings to approximately 6am and will involve a full closure of the bridge to make sure there is a safe and clear working area.
A diversion will be in place from the Moody Lane roundabout to Pyewipe Roundabout while the works are undertaken. The road will be opened as soon as possible each night.
Northern Powergrid will also be completing some work on Alexandra Dock Bridge in December under lane closures. Keep an eye out for signage prior to works for more information.
