General

The design for the new 81-space ground level car park at Abbey Walk has been submitted to planning.

The demolition work on the former multi-storey car was completed in April, and plans are now progressing to get the new surface level car park created.

The design for the new car park will see a ground level marked out, to include five blue badge bays, four EV charging stations and an area for motorcycle parking.

The car park will be built with the option to support a multi-level car park in the future if demand increases.

The planning application is now available on the Planning Portal on the Council’s website. Search for DM/0459/26/FUL if you want to see the plans or submit any comments.

Once the planning application is approved, work would start on the new car park later this year, subject to a successful tender period.
