Parents and carers of children who are due to transfer to secondary school in September have been notified of their child’s school place allocation decision.
A total of 1957 applications were received for children living in North East Lincolnshire by the published closing date. Of those 91.01% were offered their first preference school, 5.37% were offered their 2nd preference and 0.71% were allocated their 3rd preference. 2.91% of applicants were not offered any of their preferred schools and were allocated a place at the next nearest school with availability, in line with published arrangements.
Any late applications or changes to previously submitted preferences will be considered at a second allocation by 29 March 2023.
Parents and carers who applied through the dedicated online admissions Citizen Portal were notified by email. Anyone that applied otherwise, either online or on a paper form, have been notified by post.
A spokesperson for North East Lincolnshire Council said:
“The allocation of school places can be quite a complex task. Whilst the vast majority of students have been allocated their first preference, there will be some who are perhaps unhappy with their allocation.
“Any parent or carer who has not received their preferred school will be sent information and advice on how they can appeal the decision.”
The Council’s School Admissions Team is available to offer impartial advice to parent/carers.
