Key workers in North East Lincolnshire are being encouraged to book regular lateral flow tests (LFTs) to give them, their customers and their employers peace of mind.

North East Lincolnshire Council’s test, trace and isolate team are offering the tests, which can quickly and reliably detect COVID-19 in people who are not showing symptoms.

The tests are being offered at local testing centres at Grimsby Town Hall, the Knoll in Cleethorpes, and Immingham Library, and are available to key workers who have to leave their home to go to work, despite lockdown restrictions.

Those eligible for the tests include taxi and bus drivers, care workers, and people working in haulage and distribution, construction, manufacturing, estate agents, take away outlets, and car garages.

The tests provide a result in about half an hour, and can help to reduce the spread of the virus by detecting positive cases in people who are not showing any symptoms.

About one in three people who have the virus do not show any symptoms.
