Free bike safety events are coming to venues across North East Lincolnshire to help make cyclists more visible.

North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner, ENGIE, have teamed up with Cycle Hub Lincs to host a series of free events to promote safe cycling and to keep cyclists visible while on the roads.

The Cleethorpes Cycle Hub team will be on hand to carry out free autumn bike safety checks, give away bike safety equipment and provide general information about cycling in the borough.

The events will be held on the following days and locations:

  • Thursday 24 September – Bert Boyden Centre, Immingham
  • Tuesday 29 September – Grant Thorold Park, Grimsby
  • Wednesday 30 September – Centre4, Nunsthorpe
  • Thursday 1 October – Louth Road Park, near to Rose and Crown, Scartho
  • Tuesday 6 October – Roval Park, Immingham
  • Wednesday 7 October – Cleethorpes Leisure Centre

All events will take place between 3pm and 5:30pm, but may be subject to change.

Visitors are required to book for the bike service and to receive a bag of safety equipment online.

Booking is essential and you will need to bring your ticket with you.

People wanting a service and equipment must book for both parts of the event.

Please note due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a number of social distancing and cleaning measures are in place to allow the events to go ahead safely.

Bikes will be sanitised before being returned to their owners.

Each slot is limited to one person and one bike for adults to support social distancing measures. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please make sure you attend at your appointed time.
