Repair or replace your bins

You should clearly label all of your bins with your property number, and we suggest also labelling all bins with your street name.

Request to repair or replace a wheelie bin

If your bin has been stolen the cost of a replacement is £29.12 for a standard 180L bin, or £33.33 for a large capacity bin.

Sometimes wheelie bins get damaged, but we can repair issues such as:

  • missing lid
  • split lid
  • missing lid pins
  • repairs to bin wheels

If your bin can’t be fixed or has been stolen, you can order a replacement for £29.12 by calling the waste services hotline 01472 326288 option 2 or completing the Refuse, recycling and garden waste bin repairs form.

If your bin has been set alight as part of an arson attack and you have a crime number which you can provide then this bin can be replaced for free.

Larger and additional bins

You might be able to change your green general waste bin for a larger 360L bin if your household has:

  • six or more permanent residents
  • five residents with one child in nappies
  • three or more children in nappies
  • someone has medical needs

To replace a lost or broken 360L bin, it will cost £33.33.

All householders can also choose to purchase additional 240L recycle bins at the cost of £29.12 each.

If you need an additional recycle bin due to excess medical waste and can provide proof of this, then you may be entitled to a free additional recycle bin.

If you think you’re eligible or wish to buy an extra recycle bin you can call the waste services hotline 01472 326288 option 2.
