The sun has come out, the weather is getting warmer, and North East Lincolnshire is gearing up for a bumper summer of events, live music and festivals galore. Below is just a snapshot of what’s on the cards for the next few months. For more information and ideas about how to spend your summer by the seaside, visit www.DiscoverNorthEastLincolnshire.co.uk.

With the long bank holiday weekend in early June to celebrate Her Majesty, the Queen’s 70th anniversary year, there’s events galore! Thursday 2 June will see a string of commemorative beacons lit to help form a chain of light around the UK. Meanwhile, over the weekend, it’s party central with picnics and parties in most of our major towns. And don’t forget the Great Grimsby 10K Race on the Sunday if you fancy getting your running shoes on!

Armed Forces weekend will be back with a bang on the last weekend in June. With the return of the Cleethorpes Carnival on the Friday, it will be a great weekend in the resort.

Mid July will see the return of the Summer Steam gala at Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, and live music will rock the Kingsway Kiosk in Cleethorpes throughout August.

Festival of the Sea will return to Grimsby Town Centre in Mid July – with free entertainment for all ages on the bill, it’s a chance for everyone to learn a bit more about the town’s history.

Meridian Showground will host firm favourites, Pop Live on 17 June and the Gathering Festival on 18 June. Meanwhile, the Scooter Rally returns in early July, Cleethorpes and Grimsby Pride on 23 July, and Outdoor cinema events and the fair in August.

There’s something for everyone this summer in North East Lincolnshire, so get your skates on and head on over!
