Bus Service Improvement Plan public consultation – have your say!

2:39 pm, Wednesday, 12th July 2023 - 1 year ago

General

North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are looking for residents’ views to the current Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).

The current BSIP priorities were formed from the last public consultation survey in 2021. These priorities are reviewed to ensure that the funding is used to address current issues and barriers that are most important to the community. The aim of these priorities is to improve passenger numbers and people’s overall bus experience.

The below are some ideas for what these priorities could look like (but not limited to):

  • Better / clearer / more reliable information
  • Information that is easier to access
  • Better waiting facilities e.g., improved lighting and shelters
  • Lower cost fares
  • More modern buses with WIFI and stop announcements
  • Quicker journey times and more bus priority measures

Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “We want to ensure the funding for the Bus Service Improvement Plan continues to address residents’ needs with the bus service. These needs may change during time therefore a consultation is essential to ensure we are continuing to meet resident’s demands.”

Have your say in the BSIP survey which can be completed online at Bus Service Improvement Plan 2023 | QuestionPro Survey. The survey will close on Wednesday 2 August.
