General

A unique opportunity has arisen for business support organisations to help develop Grimsby’s creative sector.

The Grimsby Creates programme, using the Cultural Development Fund money, and led by North East Lincolnshire Council, is due to be launched soon.

In the meantime, the programme is looking for an organisation, partnership or consortium, ideally with previous experience in the creative support sector, to apply for the role of a creative industries Business Development Partner.

The aim of the role will be to provide support in the development of the creative sector in North East Lincolnshire, building capacity and sustainability within existing businesses and assisting new start-ups.

The business development programme will incorporate mentoring, business advice and investment support for the area’s creative industries, focusing on the needs of the individual or organisation.  Therefore, the activities and services provided will need to be tailored specifically to those needs.

The Council has already conducted research that supports the creation of this creative sector support provider alongside the wider business support on offer in Grimsby, not only to provide mentoring, but to also help creative graduates who may just need business skills to turn their talent into a venture.

If you’re a business support organisation that might look to get involved in this great opportunity, there are some engagement sessions with the team to find out more about the programme overall, and also about the official procurement process.

These engagement sessions are available via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 30 July 2020, 11am – 12 noon or Monday 3 August 2020, 11am – 12 noon.

If you are considering bidding for this tender when it’s released later in August and would find it helpful to understand how to do business with the Council and access tender opportunities please [email protected] to  book a slot.

Grimsby Creates is funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and administered by Arts Council England as part of the Cultural Development Fund (CDF).
