Business and investment

Businesses in North East Lincolnshire have until Wednesday 31 March to apply for the Government’s offer of free COVID tests for employees. Testing is being offered to support the reopening of businesses.

The offer is open to all registered businesses, including those that are temporarily closed under current lockdown measures. Those businesses that are currently closed due to COVID restrictions can apply for the tests as part of plans for reopening as restrictions are eased.

The free rapid lateral flow test kits will be provided to eligible businesses that apply before the deadline, and will mean that employees can be tested twice a week.

The test kits are able to detect coronavirus in people who are not showing symptoms, and provide a result within about half an hour. One in three people who have the virus do not present any symptoms.

You can register to order tests if your business is registered in England and your employees cannot work from home.

The tests must be used in the workplace. They cannot be taken home.

To register for free rapid lateral flow tests, visit www.gov.uk/get-workplace-coronavirus-tests before 11:59pm on 31 March 2021.

Employees can also arrange free assisted rapid testing themselves via our local testing centres at Grimsby Town Hall, the Knoll in Cleethorpes, and Immingham Library.
