North East Lincolnshire Council and its delivery partner, Equans, are undertaking carriageway resurfacing and footway renewal works on Cromwell Road, between Market Hotel roundabout and Littlefield Lane.

The works will be carried out in four phases and will begin on Monday 24 July and will be completed on Thursday 31 August.

Programme of works as follows:

Phase 1 – Footway renewal between Jet garage and Market Hotel Roundabout (Monday 24 July – Friday 4 August)

The first phase of work will include replacing damaged road gullies, drainage channels, kerbs, and reconstruction of the footway.

These works will be carried out under temporary traffic signals between 7:30am and 6pm. Phase 1 is scheduled to be completed on Friday 4 August. A signalised pedestrian crossing will still be available for pedestrians to safely cross the road.

Phase 2 – Footway renewal between Cromwell Florist and Market Hotel Roundabout (Monday 7 August – Friday 18 August)

The second phase of the works is on the opposite footway and includes replacing damaged road gullies, drainage channels, kerbs, and reconstruction of the footway.

These works will be carried out under temporary traffic signals between 7:30am and 6pm. Phase 2 is scheduled to be completed on Friday 18 August. A signalised pedestrian crossing will still be available for pedestrians to safely cross the road.

Phase 3 – Replacing damaged gullies between Cromwell Florist/Jet garage and Haycroft Avenue (Monday 21 August – Tuesday 22 August)

The third phase of the works is replacing the damaged road gullies between the Jet garage and Haycroft Avenue. These works will be carried out under temporary traffic signals between 7.30am and 6pm. This phase is due to be completed on Tuesday 22 August.

Phase 4 – Carriageway resurfacing and road markings between Market Hotel Roundabout and Littlefield Lane (Sunday 20 August – Thursday 31 August)

The final phase of the project is carriageway resurfacing and road marking works, which will start on Sunday 20 August and is scheduled to be completed on the Thursday 31 August.

To enable this phase of the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of the contractors, a nighttime road closure will be in place between 7pm and 6am each night. Please be aware that during the road closure, vehicle access to premises within the closure will not be permitted.

During all stages of the works, on-street parking will be temporarily suspended. Please support the contractor by not parking vehicles on the carriageway, footpath or verge, in the works location to ensure a safe working area can be maintained and to avoid delaying the works programme, which will result in additional nights of road closures to complete the works.

Please allow extra time for your journeys and, where possible, please use alternative routes to avoid possible delays.

The council, Equans and contractor EC Surfacing Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and assure you that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
