It’s important to make sure you check a club or activity is well run before leaving your child. Staff should let you know their names, role and responsibility is at the club or activity.
You could check by asking if:
- they have a disclosure and barring service (DBS)
- staff members are trained in first aid and safeguarding
- there is enough staff to supervise the children, and if they’re qualified to be delivering the session
You should be asked to complete a consent form detailing your child’s personal data, their medical needs, emergency contact or additional needs they may have.
