North East Lincolnshire Council wishes to thank everyone who has submitted nominations for the Civic Awards 2026. Entries are now closed with more than 100 nominations this year.
The awards will be presented in eight categories by past winners at a special ceremony taking place at Grimsby Town Hall on April 10 2026. The Mayor of North East Lincolnshire, Cllr Janet Goodwin, will also present her special Civic Award.
The Civic Awards are all about championing unsung heroes and, as they enter their fifth year, the categories have been refined to reflect the many ways that local people give back selflessly to their communities.
The categories span a wide range of endeavours and age groups – from Business in the Community to Foster Carers, Inspirational Young Person, Veterans, Charity of The Year, Environment, Sporting and Wellness, and Volunteer of the Year.
Cllr Goodwin said she was thrilled to see so many nominations this year for deserving people in the community.
“The Civic Awards were created to celebrate those people who go unrecognised for doing great work for others. I am so happy as Mayor to be able to meet some of these people and to reward their incredible contributions to our local communities.
“Not everyone can win, but we are grateful for all of the nominations which recognise just a few of the many local people who work so very hard to make other’s lives better.
“If you know someone who deserves a Civic Award then please make sure that you nominate them next time when the awards open again for 2027.”
Full details of this year’s winners will be revealed in April 2026.
