During a detailed survey of trees within Pier Gardens last year for the Pier Gardens project, the arborist identified some trees that required early attention.
Most of the work was completed last year, but work to one tree, which required its canopy reducing, had to be deferred because of an active nest. This tree is located next to the pathway at Elles / Jade’s Ice Cream.
The canopy reduction work is now due to take place on 14 February after a check to make sure there are no active nests. Grimsby-based Acer Tree Care, a local company with nearly 20 years’ experience, will be carrying out the works on behalf of the Council.
For the duration of the works, currently expected to be a few hours during the day, the steps and the seating area next to the ice cream parlour will be closed off for safety. They will be reopened as soon as practically possible.
