Residents with a passion for their community are being encouraged to apply for a unique leadership opportunity that will help shape the future of Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough for the next decade.
A community-led Neighbourhood Board has been established as part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme, which will bring £20m of investment to the area over the next 10 years. The Board is now seeking an Independent Chair to work alongside residents, businesses, community organisations and local partners to develop a shared vision for the future and ensure local voices are at the heart of decision-making.
The funding programme will focus on three key priorities: Thriving Places, Stronger Communities and Taking Back Control. Through this investment, communities will have the opportunity to improve local infrastructure and high streets, strengthen community networks and help shape services and opportunities that matter most to local people.
The Independent Chair will play a vital role in leading the Neighbourhood Board, ensuring discussions are inclusive, balanced and focused on community priorities. They will help bring together a wide range of voices, encourage collaboration and consensus, and support the development of a long-term Pride in Place Plan for the area.
Martin Vickers, MP for Brigg and Immingham and a Board member, said: “The Pride in Place programme represents a significant opportunity for Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough to shape their own future and benefit from long-term investment.
“I would encourage anyone with the experience, passion and commitment to making a difference in their community to consider applying for this important role. The Independent Chair will play a key part in ensuring local people have a strong voice in decisions that will help create thriving places, stronger communities and lasting opportunities for generations to come.”
Elaine Norton, Vice Chair of the Neighbourhood Board, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about our communities and wants to help shape their future. We want to hear from people who can bring residents, businesses and organisations together, ensuring local voices are at the heart of decisions about how this investment is used. The next 10 years present a real chance to make a lasting difference across Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough, and we are looking for a Chair who can help us realise that ambition.”
The successful candidate will also act as a public champion for Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough, working closely with stakeholders including the local authority, constituency MP, community groups and local organisations.
The role is suited to someone with a strong connection to the area, proven leadership experience and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of local people. Applicants should be able to demonstrate credibility within the community, strong facilitation and communication skills, and the ability to bring people together to achieve shared goals.
The position is strategic in nature, similar to that of a school governor or charity trustee. A small payment may be available to support individuals who would otherwise be unable to take on the role, in line with the national programme prospectus.
Those interested in applying should submit a CV and a cover letter outlining their connection to Immingham, Habrough and Stallingborough, their interest in the role and how they meet the requirements.
Applications should be sent to [email protected] by 1 November 2026.
