Corporation Road Bridge update: Footpath closure on Monday 31 July

1:35 pm, Thursday, 27th July 2023 - 9 months ago

General

Corporation Road Bridge will be fully closed on Monday 31 July to allow for further scaffolding to be installed as works progress.

Scaffolding has been erected on two spans of the bridge, and to assist with the safe installation of the next section, a footpath closure is required. The footpath on the bridge will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists on Monday 31 July, between 9am and 4pm.

Further short duration footpath closures will be needed as the work progresses and updates on this will be provided in due course. Temporary advanced warning signs will be in place and pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted.

The main structure on span one of the bridge is being grit blasted after scaffolding was successfully set up recently. Handrail blasting has also commenced.

Damaged and corroded steel deck plate removal and replacement has commenced, 50 of which must be replaced and 10 are being lifted for further inspections.

North East Lincolnshire Council, its delivery partner, Equans and contractor Spencer Group would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the work is being undertaken.
