Works to construct the new Cycle Superhighway scheme will start on site in the next few weeks on the dual carriageway between A180 Westgate roundabout to the Lockhill roundabout.
The installation of the new cycleway will take place in two phases and will start on Monday 22 March. Traffic management will begin being put into place from Thursday 18 March so that the carriageway is ready for contractor, CR Reynolds, to start work the following week.
This is the first location that works will take place as part of the cycle scheme which was awarded £2.2m of Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP) funding.
The project is worth a total of £2.6m, with £400,000 contributed by the council and private sector, and will see 3.8km of new off-road cycleway constructed to give cyclists a safe and sustainable route across the South Humber Bank to access work and training facilities.
